Aim of the app
To provide Health Care Professionals with a quick method to best match the patient’s energy and protein needs with the clinical nutrition products they have available.
Target audience
Intensive care specialists, nurses and dieticians.
How it works
The user will either calculate or enter the patient’s energy and protein targets and match this with the characteristics of the enteral formula in the app. The app uses an energy-protein algorithm (Strack van Schijndel et al. ESPEN 2007;2:69-74) and is further developed by a Dutch group of Health Care Professionals from the Intensive Care for Adults (ICV) and Dietetic department of VU Medical Centre, Amsterdam, Netherlands.
